Grief touches every corner of mental health systems—not just in the therapy room, but in waiting areas, intake conversations, supervision meetings, and organizational decision-making. This training invites participants at all levels—clinicians, support staff, and administrators—to explore how grief shows up in clients, colleagues, and communities, often in ways that go unspoken or misunderstood.

By embedding grief competence into the culture of care, we move beyond crisis response and into a proactive, compassionate framework that recognizes loss as a universal human experience. Participants will learn how to identify grief in its many forms—including after violent death, ambiguous losses, disenfranchised grief, and systemic disruption—and how to respond in ways that foster trust, dignity, and emotional safety.

Whether you offer direct care, manage teams, or support behind the scenes, this 4-hour training provides practical tools and shared language to strengthen how your organization recognizes and responds to grief. We’ll explore the recent DSM-5-TR diagnosis of Prolonged Grief Disorder, and clarify how grief differs from depression, trauma, and burnout.
