Traumatic Grief in Practice: Tools for Complex Loss is a 4-hour training created for mental health professionals who want a deeper, practical understanding of how traumatic grief shows up in clinical work.

Traumatic grief is not just intense sorrow; it can shake a person’s sense of safety, meaning, and identity. This training offers a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach to help clinicians confidently support clients navigating grief that follows sudden, violent, or stigmatized loss.

During this training, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize how sudden, violent, or stigmatized losses shape the grief process and clinical presentation, so you can better understand client experiences.

  • Apply trauma-informed grief frameworks to real-world clinical practice, bridging theory and intervention in ways that feel accessible and relevant.

  • Assess the impact of traumatic grief across multiple domains, including emotional, cognitive, relational, spiritual, social, and occupational functioning, allowing for more holistic treatment planning.

  • Support clients as they process overwhelming emotions, intrusive memories, guilt, shame, and meaning-making struggles that often accompany traumatic loss.

  • Integrate practical interventions, tools, and resources that enhance client care, strengthen your clinical confidence, and support clients both inside and outside of sessions.

This training is ideal for clinicians who want to expand their skills in working with traumatic loss, increase their confidence in complex grief cases, and gain practical tools they can immediately bring into their work with clients.
